Mr. Robert C. Boots, CRM, currently Chief Deputy Director of the Illinois State Archives, which is under the Illinois Secretary of State. His main area of responsibility is the State and Local Governmental Records Units, which are the implementation arm for the State, Local, and Cook County Records Commissions. This includes the Local Records Section, which has six field representatives and four administrative staff to support the records retention and disposal requirements of local government.
These records management professionals support a highly individualized records management program intended to meet the specific business process requirements of each local governmental unit in the area of records retention and disposal, and to insure compliance with statutory requirements of the Local Records Act. Mr. Boots has an undergraduate degree from Indiana State University and a Master’s degree from the Pennsylvania State University. He received certification as a Certified Records Manger in December, 2012. Professional records management experience has included the U.S. Army Military History Institute, Indiana Commission on Public Records, ALCOA, and supporting John Deere’s North American AG Division prior to coming to the Illinois State Archives in June, 2009. Additional experience in the area of implementing ISO 9000 complaint quality systems, product development and support, facility and operations management, were gained at both ALCOA and in support of John Deere. |
