Leanne Furby is the Director of Testing Services with the National League for Nursing. She has more than 25 years of experience in curriculum and instruction, instructional design, test development, and project management.
Dr. Furby has been an independent consultant working with schools, agencies, and corporations to create online higher education courses, transition online courses to multiple LMS platforms, present workshops for integrating technology into the classroom and guest lectured for instructional design courses. Dr. Furby has over ten years’ experience designing and developing educational software for DxR Development Group for Educational Testing Service (ETS), Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), Novartis Pharmaceuticals, National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC), North Shore Health System, and Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She was the co-recipient of the 1999 CODIE Nominee for Overall Production. Additionally, she has worked within the community college system as a Curriculum Specialist, taught introduction to computers in K-12, and worked to develop the Hewlett Packard handbook for writing certification test items and evaluate certification testing for HP World. Her educational background includes a Ph.D. Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in Learning Systems Design & Technology. Dissertation Title: The effect of delayed feedback on long-term retention and application for RN student nurses. M.S.Ed Curriculum & Instruction Instructional Design concentration in computer-based testing. B.S. in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in Child and Family Services. Additionally, Dr. Furby is a certified DACUM evaluation facilitator. |
