Areas of Expertise
As Operations Manager for the Cross-Border Practice (CBP) at Ogletree Deakins – a global labor and employment law firm – Kim is responsible for leading day-to-day operations, including group management and administration, financial and accounting oversight, marketing and business development, systems management and human resources management. The CBP, focused on advising clients with their operations outside of the United States, was created in 2011 and Kim was hired as the first practice manager.

Kim works with practice group and firm leadership, and all levels of staff including marketing and knowledge management, accounting and finance, technology and human resources; as well as international clients, industry associations and vendors. The CBP is a virtual team, and Kim continually researches and works to improve communication technology and methods for the CBP to work effectively. As the group grows and matures, she continually evaluates and redesigns processes and protocols to meet changing scenarios. Kim also contributes to designing the team’s strategic plan to meet long term goals and objectives of the CBP and Firm.

Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Kim held marketing and human resources positions in professional marketing and staffing services firms, as well as in the healthcare sector. She led numerous project management teams and spearheaded new and innovative marketing plans to help propel business forward. Kim has served on several committees, including the St. Louis Community College Career and Employment Services Advisory Committee which instructed college leadership on employment, business and technology trends and whose programs helped prepare students for success in the workplace.

She has also been guest speaker for various professional associations’ events and universities. Outside of work, Kim plays tennis and loves to sing with her women’s barbershop chorus.
