Karen West is the Small Business Program Manager for Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T), which manages and operates the Department of Energy’s Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC). With more than 5,000 employees in Kansas City and Albuquerque, the KCNSC provides diverse engineering, manufacturing and secure sourcing services for national security.
West is responsible for FM&T’s Small Business Program which involves developing strategy focused on KCNSC socioeconomic goals, outreach, supplier development and innovation. West has championed KCNSC Small Business Supplier Symposiums, KCNSC HUBZone Open Houses, a Small Business Forecasting tool for use with Honeywell’s Small Business Steering Committee and numerous DOE Mentor Protégé Agreements. West has been recognized as a leader in Supplier Diversity by her peers and has served as the Lead for the Kansas City Procurement Round Table’s Supplier Diversity Committee. She received the Department of Energy’s Facility Management Contractor Small Business Program Manager of the Year Award for FY19. Prior to joining FM&T, West worked for Hallmark Cards in their engineering, business and procurement areas. West also served as the business manager for two small businesses in Kansas City. West earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Kansas, a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Kansas State University, and Honeywell’s Lean Expert Certification. |
