Darrell W. Cook joined UGN in 1996 as a Manufacturing Systems Manager with specific responsibilities in the certification of UGN to the ISO 14000 and QS9000 Quality standard. He served in this capacity till March of 1998 when he was asked to join the executive staff as the Vice President of Quality and Training, and then as Vice President of Continuous Improvement.
During his tenure with UGN, Darrell has developed UGN University, led the Quality Engineering group, R&D group, the Program Management function and served as interim plant manager at all UGN facilities, including 12 months in the Silao MX plant. Darrell serves on the Education Committee of BAMA, Toyota suppliers support group for 10 years, and is currently the sitting chairman. In this role he has lead over 40 TPS for Executive workshops. Darrell has a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Oklahoma Bible University and has spent several years in the educational field setting curriculum, designing and leading learning workshops. He has done additional studies at the University of Illinois, and graduate work at Anderson Theological University in personality profiles and education. He is an accomplished public speaker and trainer. Other studies and/or certificates in Toyota Production System, Electronics Engineering, Statistical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Six Sigma Black Belt, CQA, CQM, lead auditor certifications in ISO 14000, QS9000, TS16949 and ISO14001 and Lab Standards. |
